Christopher Edwards

Christopher Edwards is a retired Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and self-taught sculptor living in Hobart, Tasmania.

The main themes of his current work are a tribute to the inherent beauty of the human form. His sculpture is informed by an extensive knowledge of human anatomy, proportion and aesthetics.

The attraction of bronze as a medium is based on its strength, durability and, on having undergone the necessary transformation to embody the subject, it maintains its own distinctive character.

Christopher uses the ancient ‘lost wax’ casting technique. The sculptures are held in private collections throughout Australia and Internationally.
