Jake Mikoda

Jake Mikoda is a Tasmanian based bronze sculptor whose work celebrates the distinctive wildlife and natural environment of Australia. Based in Hobart, Jake is particularly known for his anatomically detailed representations of native animals and birds, combining realism with expressive form and richly developed patinas.

Working with premium quality bronze and using the traditional lost-wax casting process, Jake remains hands-on throughout the creation of each sculpture, from modelling and mould making through to casting, finishing and patination. His works range from intimate wildlife studies to large-scale and monumental sculpture.

Over his career, Jake has completed numerous significant public, corporate and private commissions, ranging from intimate wildlife studies to large-scale and monumental works. His sculptures have been widely exhibited, recognised with multiple awards, and are held in private collections throughout Australia and internationally.
